Top-Up degrees are a popular choice among students who possess some professional qualifications such as an HND or a foundation degree. University of West London offers such challenging and innovative academic programs closely linked to employment and ensure that graduates are prepared for the future.
Program Overview
This program is especially suited for students who already have a partial qualification such as completion of a foundation course or a diploma. There are two qualifications currently that can be obtained via the UWL Top-Up Final Year. The BSc (Hons) Psychology Top-up program is offered to those who have completed the Advanced Diploma in Psychology- SQA qualification and the BA (Hons) International Business Management (Top-Up) is offered to students with level 5 equivalent qualifications in HND, CIMA, ABE etc… These fast track programs provide direct entry to the final year of a world-class degree, which broadens their career prospects within a short period of one year.
Course Overview
Designed in partnership with public and private business organizations, this program develops one’s ability to critically evaluate business models and concepts and transfer theoretical knowledge into effective action. This in-depth focus on business skills helps students enhance their employability in the areas of business, finance, marketing, HR, sales, and consulting.
It’s also a stepping stone to the graduate school that would otherwise be unavailable to them (ANC business graduates can also continue on to complete a top-ranked MBA offered by UWL in 12 or 15 months). It can also boost one’s confidence, increase networking opportunities, and open doors in academia.

Learning Activities and Assessment
Learning activities include lectures, tutorials, case studies, group work, projects, presentations, internships, etc. Students’ learning will be evaluated throughout the program with reports, quizzes, presentations, and the dissertation.

- Diploma in Higher Education (DipHE)
- SQA Professional Development Award (SCQF level 8) standard
- OTHM Level 5
- Diploma in Management Accounting ¬ CIMA (Operational Level)
- ABE Level 5 Diploma
- NIBM Advanced Diploma and Higher Diploma.
- Year 1 & 2 completion at any recognized university
- BTEC Pearson HND (Higher National Diploma)
- ACCA Knowledge Level and Skills Level
- SQA HND (Higher National Diploma) or Advanced Diploma
