SQA Advanced Diploma Program

SQA Advanced Diplomas designed and awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) are well established and recognized qualifications that not only develop skills in a particular field of study but also give opportunities for progression within employment or higher education.

Program Overview

SQA Advanced Diplomas are widely recognized as the equivalent to the first two years of a three-year bachelor’s degree. ANC students can “top-up” their SQA qualifications by progressing directly to the third year degree (top-up degree) offered by the University of West London (UWL) of the UK. They can also continue on to complete a Master’s degree in 12 or 15 months. This is a unique opportunity for ANC students to earn world-class qualifications in the shortest span of time, without travelling overseas for high quality education

Alternative Progression Pathways

  • SQA Advance Diploma students can “top-up” their qualifications by progressing directly to a third year degree at 70 universities (SQA progression Partners) across the globe (50+ countries).
  • ANC students can articulate on to the final year of an American degree offered at ANC. Northwood University and SUNY Empire State College of the US offer top notch qualifications in Business and Psychology at ANC.
  • If they wish to transfer to the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, or New Zealand for the final year, ANC students will be given the support at every stage through ANC Direct Placement Service.

  • 18 Months (Full-time or Part-time)

Advanced Diploma in Psychology program ensures that students learn psychological principles, facts, and theories about individuals and groups, using experiential, observational, and case study methods.

The curriculum also introduces students to more specific areas of psychology, such as education psychology, social psychology, and cognitive psychology. This builds a solid foundation for further study as they progress to the third year of a bachelor’s degree in Psychology

The SQA is Hospitality Management is designed to prepare students for employment within the hospitality industry in the capacity of a manager, team leader, or supervisor. With its focus on developing students’ ability to apply their knowledge, the program will equip students with leadership skills and a customer focused attitude as well as knowledge and skills across hospitality operational areas, including HR, accounting, marketing, and sales.

The program also focuses on developing 5 core skills identified as key to learning and working in today’s world: communication, numeracy, information and communication technology (ICT), problem solving, and teamwork.

The SQA Advance Diploma in Business is designed to equip students who wish to pursue a career in general business/ management/ administration with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate in a changing business environment. In addition to gaining subject based knowledge, students will learn how to apply that knowledge and skills to new situations

The program also focuses on developing 5 core skills identified as key to learning and working in today’s world: communication, numeracy, information and communication technology (ICT), problem solving, and teamwork.

Students can proceed to the final year of a bachelor’s degree in business upon successful completion of the SQA Business.
